we have all been here i am seven teen and have a 1.2 8valve punto and all my mates 1.2 206's corsas and clios are miles quicker than it but im eighteen soon and looking for a good second car. My limit is 4 maby slightly more and im just wanting something good that wont be a million poind to insure dont care what litter but above 1.6 and i want some thing that will.tuen heads like a st . Fr abarth or civic type s or somet smart or fast if you get me thanks for reading.hopefully can help :) :) :)

when i was 18 I bought a big engined family hatchback which worked out cheaper to insure but was much faster.

think outside the box ;)

Exaclty why I've never had the common youngsters car, Classic Pandas, followed by 5 door Stilo and now an automatic Bravo - not many youngsters wrapping them around lamposts. :)

Speed Isn't everything

Driving is getting more and more expensive
Scrap getting a new car just cause your a year older

Put the money into car to make it last longer
A Service
underseal
A Good polish
some new rubber

Fix the car and enjoy a known working car rather then buying another car and find its a bag of lemons

I lile my punto dont get me wrong its slow and i dont think smart and id.have to.spend a bit.of.money to get it how i lile.so i thouhjt d be better getting a better car and spending money on a car id like more and will keep longer

Il be honest here, getting yourself a car with more power is great. But however at 18 I don't think you need it mate. My first fiat was a 1.2 mk2b an it was a great little car.
I followed the same route and bought myself a 1.4 evo off the forecourt when I was 19 and to be honest mate it's not worth the extra insurance.
I'm now infact looking to sell my evo and go back to something a little older that I can play with. Your much better getting an older car and styling and tuning it how you want it.
My two cents.

Good luck if you do chose to get something new though mate

I bet its faster than my first car, that had 769cc's and 34BHP.

Still got it funny enough as a weekend car.

Speed isn't everything. It's youngsters like you who normally tend to become unstuck unfortunately and always push things to their limits until it ends up around a tree. With the cost of motoring these days, I'd personally stick with what you've got for a year or two first :)
