MG have announced pricing for the MG3, and it's aggressive. £8,399 for the entry spec up to £9,999.

Info: http://mg.co.uk/news/

Keith Adams wrote a blog post a few weeks ago at ARonline discussing how the Dacia Sandero reminds us how Rover "cocked up" with the CitiRover, pricing it far too high above its actual unit cost, and therefore missing the chance to corner the market with a seriously cheap compact. MG seem to have learnt from this lesson... perhaps the MG3 will gain some traction with these prices?

Looking at the specs it would be in with a shout at being the fastest new car you can get for less than 10k so maybe get some young corsa limited edition (you know the one black roof and wheels usually outside of maccy d's) customers away from that. If its not outright terrible it could be in with a shout of attracting people looking at 2nd hand fiestas or polos.

What are the engine options? Can't seem to find them anywhere. I think it looks like it will be a cracking little car. It has the Fabia look to it.

UPDATE: Answered my own question, they appear to be 1.5 petrol only?

The cabin doesn't look great from the examples on Autotrader.

The figures aren't exactly great either e.g. Emissions, mpg, performance etc.

I like the way that the advert works the opposite way to Dacia's. Instead of misleading the public by saying from £.... which is what Dacia do with their very basic model (which comes with no nice features, such as electric windows or central locking I'm told) MG say, top model £9,999, a nice touch.

Read some reviews of it, apparently ride is hard but the handling is decent, that engine lets it down, cheap looking interior but plenty of toys looks decent and cheap.

Yes I think MG is onto a winner there.... I cant wait to start seeing them on the road.

MG FTW!!! lets get those prices down everyone Stuff big car manufacturers earing millions in profit, plus not only that at least Chinese kids aint just making shoes their making cars now yay!
