Hi Guys

Wonder if you can help with a discussion.

Friend has car which MOT is running out next month, and tax runs out in July, however will be going away this month for a year. Has the idea of putting a Car cover over his car and leaving it parked in front of his house, on the road for a year??

Would this work, would he need to contact the DVLA to SORN it while he is away??? Or could he get his tax now, then MOT it when he comes back???

Think that makes sense??

regards

Tony:cool:

you have put a sorn on it,and it has to be off the road has to be on private land or a drive ,it however can not be on the public highway ,personally i would put into storage i.e garage handbrake off and disconnect the battery jacked up maybe and take the tyres of and store them on the sidewall but i would not cover with anything plastic as this will store moisture between the body and the sheet use an old cotton sheet this will breath or better still flog it and get another on your return:devil:

remember the tax has to be shown, insurance ? if its on ther highway I think you need it , just in case some one else goes into you and has no insurance or just drives away , sell it or park it on private land
