Alfa 156 2.4 jtd

Hello there. Im in need of a diesle now and Im leaning towards an alfa 156 2.4 jtd. I love the look of them inside and out. But I know there are many different types out there! I love the one with the sports steering wheel with all the controls on it so thats what Im after. While looking today I found one which was marked up as a 20v multijet, which would be even better, but what are the differences between the normall 2.4 and the 2.4 20v multijet? Engine covers are the same and I dont want to be sold something which it isnt. Thanks

20v multijet will be from 05 onwards (need to check this). Are you wanting the performance/operation differences or how to spot a 20v multijet over a non-multijet?

The multijet has more valves and more power although there is nothing wrong with the 10v version. That one doesn't appear to be a 20v and it has a rather silly wing on the boot.

156 is an excellent choice. i'd rather have the 1.9 instead of the 2.4 because the 1.9 is just as quick as a 2.4 after a remap but you dont have the front heavy issxue to deal with so you keep the 156's sharp handling. also the 2.4 has terrible fuel economy (check alfaowner to see just how bad)

in all honesty a 156 makes the bravo's handling seem poor. the interior is sexy as hell. its a great car and i'm sure you'd be over the moon with one as a replacement for the bravo .

the steering wheel you want is only on the newer models. the interior facelift hapened in 2003, before the exterior facelift in 2004. so you can have either shapre exterior with the new interior. there is a lot more than a steering wheel difference, the facelift interior is better in many ways.

the 10v is older and slower, but still a good engine. you cant get them mixed up, the 20v says 20v on the cover
