Re: need advice on which car

i'd look at it like this, if he drives like a loonatic its best to get a car that is cheap to fix rather than reliable. end of the day nothing can take daily boyracer abuse, so you change cars every 6 months or you accept that your gearbox will probably die. i should know- i've been young and dumb and i killed my fair share of cars at the time.

buy him a lexus and it wont break as often, but it will cost twice as much to fix each time. buy hima fiat and you can get parts from scrapyards easily, so it'll be far cheaper to fix.

plus, at 21 he shouldnt have a large engined car imo. does he really need the extra cost of petrol and insurance and tax? does he really need to kill himself at 150mph? at 21 90% of lads arent mature enough or experienced enough to have a powerful car and keep it on the road.

Tell him to save his money and move out of daddy's house .

Buy him a 1.2 16v Punto sporting, get a whole engine and gearbox for £400 from a breakers.

Re: need advice on which car

If he drives like a loonatic maybe he shouldn't get a new car but a series of advanced driving lessons.

At 21 the biggest engine you should consider is a 1.6, an old Golf SE or Stilo. The most important thing is to get him to drive properly, not go around at 100mph everywhere.

Re: need advice on which car

Get him a vtec honda, they love to be revved if thats his bag.

Or get him something that uses as alot of fuel. That will stop him putting his foot down.
