invertor question

heres one for you all.

those invertors that take your cars 12v supply, and make it into a 240v socket, to power stuff with.

if you plugged the invertor in, then attach a 12v battery charger to it, and then connect the charger leads to the battery, will it charge the car battery??

hmm

Re: invertor question

Ideally with an Inverter you should use a dual battery system so you dont drain down the battery for the car, this requires some wiring for a split charging system. Well documented in Caravan Club books and the such I think.

Probably wouldn't but just curious like me. For example. Would a car with a wind turbine on it run forever once it got going because car runing turn the fan, fan powers that car, and so on, ever lasting power?

Same with a Solar powered light infront of its own solar pannel. Once it's lit will it burn forever?

no, and no, both for very obvious reasons.

Re: invertor question

Levemir and Jon, what you're proposing is the same as "perpetual motion". As none of the devices are 100% efficient then none of the proposed options are possible.

Perpetual motion only ever happens in the worlds of Heath Robinson, Roland Emmett and Punch.
