Well, the French goverment used them but I suppose thats the same thing really....

It's only the 2.0 16v Petrol from the Xanita so I'm hoping that it may get near 30mpg... Well, in the middle of a credit crunch and the fuel protests I'm hoping it does!!!!

What is going on?

Jim I quite like them as well and you get lots & lots of car for your money, until that is something goes wrong. The XM is well known to be hiddeously expensive to repair...........I wish you well mate and hope you don't need to re-mortgage

As for child hood those were new when you were still old

Actually it was a CX like roberts that I really wanted but I'd never be able to afford them now as they're thousands... The XM is the next best thing thou

Anyway, we're the FIAT Forum. Like who are we to talk about reliabity, LOL!
(at least XM's don't rust, hehe)

No he hasn't!

I was introduced to the XM on Monday evening and took it for a quick drive ... it's in good shape but the electrics were doing weird things and the ride was a bit un-Citroeny. But given time and patience the gremlins could be controlled (unlikely to be obliterated!) and it could be a good car

Oh shuss you. The fact that you have to kick the dashboard to get it to start just gives it character!
(and get out and thump the headlights to get them to come on too, lol...)

Re: I just bougth one of my childhood dream cars..

BTW my Xm has this...

Ok, they tested it against a Ford that had been round since the dawn of time but it's an interesting look at why hydroactive suspension is cool....

But not quite as cool at this rather odd promo video for the XM set in Iceland....

Looks like the bloody 'Omen' LOL

Re: I just bougth one of my childhood dream cars..

I spotted your mate Roger last night at about 8pm on the Belfast to Bangor road. He was in the blue Dyane. I pulled up alongside for a look at the car, very nice. I beeped the horn but he either ignored me or he couldn't hear me over the din inside the Citroen!

Just make sure it's not a NIFMC night...

(Northern Ireland French Motor Club)

Yeah, all of us are meeting up tomorrow night at Rogers and it's a BX, Dyane, CX, 2cv, XM, Saxo and Xantia....

You should come with your Saxo oh lord of the panda section

I'm not emotionally attached to the Saxo. You seem to be emotionally attached to your Citroen, that makes you a traitor.
