Question rover 16v on 3 cylinders

ok, this aint the usual type of question, but here goes

My other halfs rover 214 [16v one] did its head gasket, she is saving for another car anyway so we are going to weigh it in to get some cash back.

The car is smoking badly from the exhaust, its the antifreeze in the water thats causing most of the smoke, you can smell it from the back coming out the exhaust.

I need to drive the car about 4 miles to meet its death with a crusher, should I stop the dodgy cylinder from firing? and drive it there on 3 cylinders? can I do this by removing a plug lead, and disconnecting the injector wiring for that cylinder? as I dont want unburnt fuel going down to the cat - that will be removed when we get there for a few extra £quid, [after the car has cooled somewhat, luckily the exhaust either side of it is recent, so it will unbolt easily]

what do I do? suggestions please.

you would probably get 4 miles to its resting point, however have someone you know follow you with a tow rope just in case

Re: rover 16v on 3 cylinders

you could drive it a short way on 3 cyls if you wont have to stop or anything but tbh I wouldnt worry too much about it, if its burning it, ie its coming out the exhaust as fumes the CAT should last 4 miles as it will still be burning the fuel aswell.
