Recomend a car

Need some advice with what car Babz is going to buy.

Shes just got a new job (woop) which envolves traveling around. Mostly local but for the first few weeks she will be doing a trip from stoke to dudley and back everyday. After that it could still be quite a bit of traveling around.

She currently has a Toyota yaris 1.0vvti. Its a great car in very good nick and an excellent runner but because of the small engine size, it wont take the added milage well and it doesnt tend to be the most economical car once upto motorway speeds (sits at around 4300rpm for 70mph).

Shes going to have around £2500 to play with but idealy wants something as new as poss with as low a milage as poss but which will be good on fuel and take the milage well.

Ideally she wants a petrol but could be swayed to a diesel but needs to be low milage. Something around 1.4-1.6 for petrol or some kind of turbo diesel.

Also She wants something a little bigger than a yaris but would still go for a small car if the right one came along. Something bravo/stilo sized really I think.

Any suggestions?

Re: Recomend a car

tbh the yaris is a great choice and imo she should keep it. the vvti will easily do 200k with no major work required, and even at 70mph (@57mpg) it will be more economical than 90% of cars on the road.

the grass is always greener on the other side, let her see it isnt and she might change her mind. go to a car supermarket so she can see all the different cars available, sit in them etc. so she can see if she prefers anything esle (but dont let her get attached to anything and buy it! only go to view, call it a market research voyage)

She doesnt want a fiat. I have suggested a Punto JTD but she doesnt like them. Doesnt want a bravo and stilo out of budget.

Re: Recomend a car

Shes not keen on the older shape pugs. She likes the 206s though! but its french and will inevitably set itself on fire as one of my work mates 206s have done 3 times

Re: Recomend a car

They aint too bad. Can definatly get one within budget.

The yaris will be going though as well, shes never been that attatched to it as its not the colour she really wanted but the car was perfect in everyother way so she bought it anyway. Plus she needs some of the money to see her through the month in hand pay. We should get around £3500 for the yaris. its only on 27k.
