the saxo now has a rapidily failing drive shaft, overfueling problems every so often that cannot be traced, rusty floor pan that isnt covered on citreons rust warranty as they say its not rusty enough, requires a new headlight cluster, clutch slipping, rust in the boot (that isnt rusty enough for citroens warranty) all on a car the same age as my stilo.

My stilo has nothing wrong with it and hasnt had for 18 months, has more miles on it.

im only having a grumble as i spent all day going round breakers looking for a washer bottle and light only to find front end write offs or mark one saxos

sounds like you bought a lemon to me more than anything

Having experienced a Saxo 1.4 Furio with vts bodykit etc etc (my daughters car) for 18 months, I agree with Big Black Stilo... Saxo's are a pile of junk!

Wasn't the Paxo an evolution of the AX? If it was it's not surprising it's falling to bits! My old AX GT had the build quality of a Wendy House...

my ax gt was terrible in every possible way, but i knew that before i bought it. the same applies to a saxo, you dont buy it because its good quality, you buy it because its cheap. you cant expect a cheap french car to be well built, unless you smoke crack.

Not going to disagree but even so a rusty floor pan which sounds like its pretty bad shouldnt be really occuring on an max 11yr old car, sounds like its not been well looked after in past

Maybe it was cheap for a reason? Evn if it is a saxo it sounds like its still a lemon

when we bought it there wasnt a mark on it or any problems (apart from everythign rattles in it). It was 1 year old with 8k on the clock or something daft, when we got it. I wanted her ti get a sie sporting or fiesta. But no. she got a paxo 1.1 v chav rocket

Its not like its not been looked after either- both cars get valeted at same time, by me. both have a FSH at retrospective dealerships.

It warns that it's french. Saxo's are an engine and seats wrapped in tin foil. That's why once you actually give it a chasis by welding in a roll cage... they make a reasonable rallycross car.

like i said, i didnt buy it, wasnt there fore the test driving and was 15 miles away having fun in a sei sporting.

I just give it a full valet and it looks ok, is sellable still, infact more sellable than my stilo

don't get me started on saxo's/106's,

even when they came out in 1995 (ish) they were pretty lame compared to the competition (prob why the punto sold so well in its early years), but they sold em right upto 2003 (or newer???) and just so hopelessly horrible, how people walking into a stealership couldn't see it was a 1980's car dressed up with some fresh bumpers and body coloured handles still baffles me.

agree with hellcat though, when braced up and fitted with some proper suspension they handle fair nice! then their tiny size and low CoG helps a lot. S1 rallye's are the only 106/saxo that I've ever liked.

as for the rust, take it to another dealership or take it upto citroen UK headquarters, they'll sort it out.

mates saxo is a 1998/9, not rusty, but every single thing that could break has broken, g'box is a joke for a start, he's been thru 3 of tehm (recon citroen sourced ones!!)
