Jeez! Had to go in the daughters Saxo yeterday, and I squirted the washers to clean the windscreen, sunroof open and JESUS what a hnkin godawful foul stink! Like I would imagine rotting flesh! :yuck: :yuck: :yuck: :yuck:

No exageration it is absolutely YAK! (n)

Anyone else had this? Washerbottle is kept topped up with water and proper screen wash fluid, gotta drain it out, do something with the bottle and pipes etc!

What causes it? Its nothing like rancid water, more like there is a few dead rats in there de-composing!

Naaaah! You guys are far better than that!

Saxperience dont know... I guess its one that no-one will know the answer to...

:(

on my bravo the fluid always went white and looked a lot like creme de la man. i would drain, flush and refill, then a few weeks later it happened again. i finally got rid of it by adding some antibacterial soap and boiling water. bacterial/fungal growth in standing water is not unusual, and once you have an infection it takes more than flushing to compeltely remove it.

Cheers Jug, its gotta be worth a go! :)

best option i found was a bottle of Jeyes fluid made into a strong solution fill the bottle then pull the pipes off the back of the jets (to avoid splashing onto paint work) hold the pipes so it either runs onto the floor or into a bucket and get some one to pump it through let it stand for an hour or so in the bottle and pipes then flush it out with hot water..

not sure on the saxo but my Ford fiesta had a pump inlet filter built into the sealing grommit where the pump push fitted and this needed all the green gunk cleaning out...

hope that helps
