Its in MM cos its a motor (my Sis in Laws) I gotta try to help with?

I showed her a great Punto but she chose the Micra.

And I am really on about the Heater blower doesnt work, or the Aircon, and I gotta fix it?

Durr? I spose I am asking if anyone has experience of these little (big maybe) faults?

never a k11/k12 (bubble) shape micra, they are freaking aweful!

they rust, the g'boxs are amongst the worst ever (auto is alright though, think its made in india orsomesuch), you can't drive one if your taller than 5'6" :eek: not safely anyway, I bang my head on the side's of it, and if you go over a bump my head IS thru the sunroof :eek:

engines are the redeeming feature, the 1.0 16v is fiesty, andt eh 1.3 just erm, works away! not much difference in power, just the 1.3 is happier on the motorway.
 
Jeez ur rite there faster4_tec, (n) found the rust, lucky tho, just in the drivers side rear sill, £45 to patch it to MoT standard. :) My daughter also has one, a 5 door, R plate, since I found a Micra site I found her a rusty front cross member that needs repairing for MoT..... :eek:

Have to say I get in and out and drive them both ok and I am 6'2". Bit of a girlie car I think, they seem to love them! I read up on the throttle body problems and odd stuff but there doesn't seem that much that goes wrong TBH. The air conditioning on the S plater doesnt work but she's got windows that open (y) Time will tell I guess.
 
is it k11 or k12?

k11 micra was the leader in its class for a number of years, and the most reliable car on britain's roads for even longer. handling is surprisingly good (i was shocked actually) and the 1.0 16v twincam engine deseves a medal. k11 micra really is a lot more special than its looks would suggest.

k12 is a very different story. i wont go there :)
i guess since you have A/C that this is a k12 model. then again i know the blower fault was one of the (very few) faults on the k11.

either way, first thing to do is check fuses for ventilaiton fan and A/C.
next, attack the controller. its behind the glovebox, they can burn out and fail, replace it with a scrapyard one.
 
Cool thanx Jug. I got 2 k11's to look after, 1 for my daughter and 1 for Sis in law. The fan is fixed, i soldered the heater resistor pack up and its been fine, left it on test ages so result there. Rust is the issue for me now, drivers side sill repair on the 3 door, quoted £45 to patch to MoT standard. The 5 door has a rusty front cross member that I gotta get done, be a bit more I guess as its a bit of a mess around to do.

Still... life goes on... got a puncture thread in the GP section... which tyre to fit as its got a screw in it close to the sidewall. Looking at Falken ZE512's.

if the tyre on the other side has 50%+ of its tread remaining replace the punctured tyre with the same tyre as already fitted. if the other side has less than 50% tread left replace both tyres and keep the non-punctured one as an spare, or sell it. even grip is important so dont mix and match tyres.
