vw golf mk2 Driver with mk3 head/Mk3 VR6 80mm lowering kit/GTi 16v exhaust/15" BBS RAs.

Sounds perfect for a runaround to me.. hey! i have one i might be selling! lol

Like the way you use the term runabout unlike anyone else i know, pretty sure thats what you said the van was gonna be when you got it, not sure many people would call a R5GTT Van a runabout lol...

So.. how about Pug205 Mi16 to be made in 'rally slag' runabout :D

Or join the small is better side of life and revive ghost's turbo cinq ;)

the faux dimma looks nice, although it could do with that kit been refitted and something done wtih the rear arch vents/wheel arch, doesn't look right to me. but then for £1200 (at a guess) the 1.9 16v is a stonker and won't throw up many problems (unless its mega hot, then the prehistoric injection will throw in the towel, or is it on carbs on the mi16?)

something a bit odd, citroen bX gti 16 (if you can get the 16, now rarer than most an original t16), big, custy, quick, sleeper, does corners too (y)

can't really say anything bad about a mk2 golf. even the lower powered ones still handle the same and don't cost much (mate bought a minty driver/ryder? 1.6 mk2 for a shade under £300 taxed and tested for ~4month and its fantastic only a few bubbles of rust and needed some solid brake lines made up for rear again ~£20-30 to fix :yum: ).

Guess it depend on how much you want to spend? But, as its a run about, you want it to work, not rust, and not take valuable pennies away from your other projects...

I know everyone will laugh, but i rekon a Skoda Felicia would fit the bill. Get a higher spec one, and its got a 1.6 mpi engine, and it weighs a bit less than 900kg. I loved mine - could be the ultimate sleeper... mine was droped about 45mm on 15's and looked awesome. They go for hardly anything now aswell...

Alex.
