Hello
I am trying to replace the rear brake shoes on a 96 1.4 Brava but can not get the drum off.
Is there a mechanism to retract the shoes? I think that the shoes are 'hooking' on the lip inside the drum where they have worn the drum from braking.
Any ideas greatly appreciated, thanks.

Welcome to fiat forum (y) have you tried slackening of your hand brake cables :chin: and for a more detailed explanation go to the brava/o section :)

Try looking at the rear of the drums, there is normally a rubber grommet to remove so that you can get to the mechanism and release the pressure on the brake shoes. If the drum is rusted on as well, unscrew the wheel locating pins and screw in a couple of bolts to release it whilst gently tapping with a hammer. Good luck.
