Talking 1st ever post please read and reply.

Hey everyone, after reading through the site for good couple of months i thought it was time to join!! I drive a 8v Punto ELX 99-00! Im no boy racer infact i despise them!! I just dont get it!!! especially these chavs in Little Novas and corsas with 6 spooty 14 year olds cruising around thinking theyre in a skyline hahahahahaha Anyway

What MK is my punto, ive only had it a few months now?!?!? and after getting used to the feel of the car etc im looking to get a bit more power from it, everyone has said that an induction kit is best!! Does anyone know what one i would need and along with fitting one is there anything else that should be fitted!! to obv increase performance!!

Will the insurance company need notifiying of the kit ?

What happens at the MOT?

Is it easy to take off and replace with the stock parts to pass the MOT etc ?

Im just looking to see what an induction kit will do ie acceleration top speed etc! by the way top speed is not an issue its acceleration!

Love the forum hope to become a regular!!

Remember! if it feels fast its too fast! Learn to drive the car and it will give you the speed eventually

Re: 1st ever post please read and reply.

It's a Mk2. There is little in the way of power to be had from the 1.2 8v, an induction kit will sound nice but won't improve acceleration noticably. Yes, you need to inform your insurance company of any mod. It won't fail an MOT with an induction kit. It is easy to return to standard.

Welcome.

Re: 1st ever post please read and reply.

i get classed as a boy racer all the time as i drive a sei with big spoiler , big wheels and big exhaust which causes alot of attention , but im not im just oh so sick of the sterio typical image , boy racers just muck about in cars in macdonalds car parks then there is people like up who do cars up properly and take pride in out lil bundles,

keep it up for FIAT

With an antisocial disorder whatever marked against it Boy Racer

But on a serious note, driving a modified car (properly, not tin can additions) doesnt make you a boy racer, its your attitude

Re: 1st ever post please read and reply.

u wanna check out stratford for the rude boy racers, some crazy kid has a suzuki thing, those ones with the 3 cylinder engines. its green, its horrid, and all the honda civics full of chavs. even tho i do appreciate civics for what they are, these chavs spoil hte image. i cannt wait to mod my car a bit but would be very offended to be classed a boy racer.
seems we are walking on very thin ice with one foot on either side of a very fine line of chavs and tuners!
