Hey everyone! I don't know how many people you have signed up here from different countries, but I'm from the Pennsyvania/New York/New Jersey area of the United States. I signed up to find information and share my find of a 1959 Fiat 1200, a thread on which (with more pictures!) can be found here:

Information on Fiats in the USA is pretty much non-existent, so any links to forums/info sites on a car such as mine would be really helpful.

My other car (daily driver, fun car, weekend raceer) is a 2003 Subaru WRX in silver. Basic mods done to it now, but this summer I have plans that should make it more fun and much quicker... provided I don't blow all of my money restoring the Fiat.
Thanks for the space, it should be interesting learning about Fiats on here!

...and saying words like "mate" and spelling color "colour." Haha, I kid.

welcome!

mrs t loves the car, she had one like it in mumbai for many years, where she tells me parts are plentiful due to these cars being locally produced by fiat/premier, the model designation was padmini

generally the cars are used as taxis, and a lot of them get quite bashed on the daily grind, however the international airport has a huge scrapyard right next door and can sell you almost anything you need

now i realise this may not help being on the other side of the world, but....

i see your plate is new jersey, which has a pretty big ex-pat indian community, some contacts there, may help the way!

good luck!

Thanks for the welcomes everyone!

And thanks especially turboned, I had no idea that they were even similar (let alone almost exactly the same) to the Premier Padmini. That's great info, especially when it comes to restoring this thing. It may be terribbly commonplace to people over there, but in the USA I've never seen one, and it's seen as antique, too! Should be a fun project.

Any more, even menial, information on the car would be WONDERFUl. Thanks guys.
