Hi all, newbie here. And also a know-nothing when it comes to cars, but I'd like to look after my just-acquired Fiat Punto better than I looked after my dear departed Ford Fiesta.

To start with, there are so many names of different models that I'm a bit confused as to exactly which one mine is.

This is what I do know:
Fiat Punto Dynamic Speedgear 1242 cc
Range PUNTO (188-0)
2003

When I look up spare parts, and have to choose my model from a dropdown list, there seem to be lots of finer distinctions and I have no idea which one my car is. Is it
1.2 16V 80
or
1.2 60?
How would I know that (where is it recorded?)
Anything else? Do Mk1 and Mk2 have anything to do with this model, for example?
Thanks!

Hi and welcome to Fiat Forum. I'm not a Punto expert and I'm open to correction by more knowable members, but your car is a Mk2 (not Mk2B) and as it has the Speedgear semi-automatic gearbox it will be the 80hp 16 valve engine. Should be a nice car.

Thanks! That helps. Yes, it drives really well and only had 38,000 miles on the clock. Badly dented bodywork - if I ever feel flush, I might replace some of the doors. (Although... I think it makes people keep their distance - on the basis that you have less to lose than they have) :D

I have the same problem. I have just bought a 2004 fiat Punto dynamic 16v automatic 1242cc. 5 door hatchback petrol. Only 22000 on the clock bodywork but covered in scratches. (I think the previous owner was a duke from edinburgh.) I need to replace the radio aerial, the washer pump and rear wiper blade but all the sites ask if I have a mk1 or mk2. I cant see any mention of Mk1 or Mk2 on the registration certificate.
Also, is it possible to get an on line or hard copy user manual as there are many bells and whistles and I have no idea what they do.
