Hi to the group, my brother and I are trying to sort a Dualogic problem - sometimes the pump doesn't run when the door is opened - at the moment we are suspecting the loom to the door. Does anyone know if there is a switch in the door itself and what sort of switch it is, we can't see a plunger on door or body ? We've seen there is a lot of Dualogic experience in the forum - we'll check out the downloads too. Thanks for any help and we'll feed back on anything we find.

Can I suggest the system will default switch the box off when the door is open.

You really shouldn't be driving with the door open, you might fall out.

I thought the pump was supposed to run to prime the system as you got into the car using door as trigger.

BillyF does the interior light come on? That would rule out the door switch.

Thanks for responses - to clarify, when the fault occurs, which isn't always, the pump won't even prime when the door is first opened.
Good idea to check the interior light operation, thanks

Sounds like a tired pump motor. As they get old and clogged up with residue from the carbon brushes they can start to stick. It takes more battery power than is available to get them turning.
Easy way to check is:
Open bonnet (using passenger door so as not to trigger the pump)
Get a piece of wood and a small hammer. Hold the piece of wood with one end against the battery tray, ready to tap it. (You can get nearer to the pump, but it's more awkward)
Get someone to open the driver's door and, as it opens, give the piece of wood a sharp tap (gentle is enough!).
If pump starts turning then it's almost certainly the pump motor.
Sounds a bit crazy but it's free to try.
