Just introducing myself. I'm Mike ? First time I've posted on here, but have used the forum as a spectator for over a year! About time I said hi. I have a 1.9 grande punto sporting. I love my fiat, but boy it has been as demanding as my misses. So far changed topmounts, starter motor, glow plugs, alternator. And many more bits and bobs. It now wants a leaky injector and possibly a gearbox refurb (noisy in 3 and 4 on deceleration) but still love my car. Well, depending on how much it's all gonna cost!

if you ever want to replace the leaky injector yourself, be aware that they are individually coded in the ECU in order for it to make the corrections needed in the maps...
About the gear, I'm pretty sure Bardhal or STP or other makers can provide some noise-proofing additive for gearbox oil, which BTW needs to be changed aswell from time to time...

Cheers for the advise Bernie. I believe the injector has sealed itself but all gunked up with black tar looking stuff, I'll take a picture later. I think it's going to be a garage job as I'm not sure if I want to tackle it myself. The gearbox is going to be sorted soon fingers crossed. I'm starting to think it might not be worth spending all this money on a 07 plate car that's probably only worth £1800. The only thing that's making me want to keep it is the fact it's only done 67k.
