Hi all I got a fiat uno hatchback 1995 think its a mk2 i have had it 2 months now and the problem is it starts every morning but go on a short journey and may not start again engine turns over ok but will not start i have changed the chip for a new one and changed the fuel filter the garage checked the fan belt unit and that works ok it has got good sparks on plugs the odd thing is i catch the bus to the car the following day and it starts strait away no problem and it drives well drive it back home a couple of miles and wont start again if you guys have any ideas as its driving me mad i have very little knowlege about engines so any help would be great many thanks for any help cheers have a great day all

If you are only using it for a couple of miles each way, the short answer is, buy a push bike.

It might well be the temp sender is getting confused.

I want to use it on further journeys but when i cant start it again it makes it harder to get back home its so unreliable that i can only do short journeys in it you stop to get petrol and it wont start again but its worth a a check on the sensor thanks for your advice

When it next fails to proceed, remove a spark plug.

My 1993 Uno Fire developed a similar fault... would not start when hot - but once going it would get me to work (20 miles) but stop on the way for more than a couple of mins and it did not want to start.

I had a spare engine and sensors at the time and I just about swapped them all... no change.

Thinking back the only thing I didn't swap was the coil.

Never did fix it

Dry plug means no fuel. So thats the place to start looking. Does the pump prime at 'Mar'?
