Hi,..I recently bought a 06 Fiat Multipla and the engine management light was occasionally coming on. I have had it in the garage twice now for diagnostics and the mechanic told me there are no faults showing up at all. Now the engine management light is constantly flashing and the sound alarm rings from the moment I turn the engine on. The car is running perfect but I'm starting to lose my mind with the sound of the alarm, anybody know of a quick fix to this as I have no wish to pay another service charge to a mechanic just to switch an alarm off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to use the correct tool to scan the ECU. If the garage is using a generic OBD reader it won't detect FIAT specific codes. Multiecuscan is the correct software to use and a worthwhile investment for any Fiat/Alfa owner

Hi,
You need a PC (laptop or notepad), a registered copy of Multiecuscan (€50) www.multiecuscan.net and an ELM 327 or similar interface lead.e.g. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271275445368 (£15) I've used this seller.
This will do much more than a generic code reader including stored codes.

Probably cheaper than the garage is charging you for a reset
