I've just installed a air induction kit to my 1.4 fiat grande punto but I have 1 pipe not linked to anything it was attached to the 3 way splitter in my old air filter box but now I have installed the new induction kit there's no were for it to go the car drives fine but when I put my finger on the pipe it's still sacking in air is this a problem?

That's it fitted in been told it's a breather pipe so I've just put a little filter on it but the problem I'm having now is there's some thick oil coming out pretty sure it's not the gasket but is that normal?

Yes this is absolutely normal, the oil vapour used to be sucked and burnt by the engine.
You could extend this pipe and connect it to an oil collector, there are kits on the bay for this purpose.
BTW your (nice) cone filter is nor really well placed just above the exhaust manifol (hot air), can you possibly move it to the right side to get more fresh air in it ?

Oh that's good the kit I got was not the best I will be extending it soon just need to get a bit more pipe so I will put it right down near the vents but I will go out and move it right now thankyou for your comment bernie noted

WAY better !

Do you know why ?

The ECU compute the fuel to be injected with relation to the air quantity; colder air is denser than hot air, therefore take less "place", all other things being equal, the engine will swallow more cold air than hot air (the same volume, but less oxygen and all other components of course) , the ECU will see that and inject more fuel -> more power...

Simple hey ?

It is a nice quick upgrade first of many tho the next think now will be a back box (any recommendations?) Loose a bit of weight out of it then take it to get remapped with I'm not looking forward to paying... is it true that once you remap a car if you disconnect the battery it resets to factory?

Quick yes, upgrade not so sure. This is almost certainly worse than the stock intake. Nice color though.
A remap will not be reset by disconnecting the battery. The map is stored in EEPROM that does not require power to keep its memory Infact in most cases to go back to factory the ECU will have to be re-programmed. Some remaps fit larger or "piggyback" EEPROMs so you can switch between maps.

It's a ok bit of kit like wouldn't recommend the same one but it sounds the part so I'll stick with it for a while and thanks on the advise on remapping just been told dithering things by dithering people sounds like you know what your talking about tho so thanks
