in need of some help of you if possible please.
I have just recently purchased a 2012 Ducato Maxi 2.3 it has done 354.000 miles but been serviced regular in its time.
When i looked at the van i noticed the engine dropping a little as if it was going to cut out but thought could be simply solved, after about 3 weeks i jumped into the van after 3 days standing and noticed i had lost power the engine management light came on and there was a lot of white smoke from exhaust i got this checked out at my local garage. The diagnostic machine gave him a code for which he done but the mechanic told me he was not happy with it and he purchased another part believing that would cure my problem but it didnt ( fair plays to mechanic he did not charge me for doing what he did) what the mechanic told me to do was drive it for a week to see how it goes , even though it was not 100% it had got power plenty of pull etc. but until the other morning the same thing the van loss of power and cut out with management coming back on with message saying check engine, i got the van to my work and went to it about 2 hours later the engine light had gone but was not running 100% still.
I am not losing any water so i would think head gasket is fine the only thing i have possibly noticed is my first injector it does not sound like the other 3 but hard to judge if it is faulty.
Another thing i have just noticed even if my van is left standing for a few days the glow plug symbol when i turn the ignition on the symbol lights up and goes off in less then a second ive never seen that happen before.
If anyone can shed a little light on this its much appreciated or the part number for a glow plug because ive looked on the famous auction site its giving me part number but im unable to read mine.
Oh and in the meantime it flew through its MOT the emissions were fine.
