Hello everyone!

I'm new to this site and need a bit of advice. I have had my fiat 500 colour therapy for 2 years now. I have it on a lease and it is due for its second service. When I rang the fiat garage I have been told it will cost me over £300 and that I need to have lots of parts replaced etc but I don't know if this is right as I have only had it 2 years. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you :)

Hello and welcome .

£300 for a second service is not out of line with what others here have been quoted by Fiat main dealers.

You need to read the terms of your lease.

If they say that it must be serviced by a franchised dealer at your expense, then the only options you have are to phone around and see if there are other franchised dealers who will do it for less.

If they just say that it must be serviced in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, then you could have it serviced by any VAT registered garage without compromising the warranty. Independent garages are in general less expensive; however some franchised dealers have been known to match their prices to avoid losing a customer, so it's worth checking back once you've got an independent quote.

If at the service they find additional work needs doing (front brake pads & discs are often reported as being required), then the cost of the service will increase significantly.
