Hello! I'm a newbie and just got my Fiat 500X a month ago. This morning was the first time I've had this issue. My radio kept shutting off and I would get a message saying Sound System Unavailable. It would come back on in 30 seconds or so. It did this 6 times on my 40 minute work commute. At one point the radio wouldn't let me change stations from the steering wheel control so I touched one on the screen and while it high lighted that station, it did not change stations. It stayed on the one that was currently on. I tried to shut it off pushing the big button but it just sat on the screen and went silent. Also, none of the other buttons on the radio console would work either, ie. trip, AM/FM, display, etc. Has anyone else had issue with their radio shutting off?

I am having the same problem. Would love to know what is going on.

My girlfriend just bought her 500X last week (2016 model) and had this same issue today on the way to work - hers also said "Parking Sensor Unavailable" or something to that effect at the same time.

Did this just start happening to both of you today? Maybe it has something to do with the date? It seems like a software issue.

I am having the same issues. It started this morning.

That's crazy - I bet it has something to do with the uconnect software and it being January 30th, some programming bug. I'm a software developer and I have a hunch this will stop happening on Feb 1 because of date rollover - hopefully they do a software update to fix it.

She was freaking out because it's literally a brand new car and took it to the dealer already but they said they would have to hold onto it for a few days and they had no loaners available.

Also I haven't really looked at it (I will when she gets home from work) but I bet if you manually change the date in the system to something before today - if you even can - it will stop happening.

what does the date have to do with it?

It's just a theory but there are a lot of date-related bugs in software that go overlooked because they aren't able to thoroughly test for them. There's no other external influence besides the cars being the same model and it happening at the same time to everyone, I could be completely wrong but it sounds the most reasonable explanation to me.

Thanks so much for all of the feedback! Glad to know it isn't just mine. I thought maybe it had to do with the cold and it was frozen or something. lol I'm going to agree with the theory of a system update because it is too coincidental that it happened to all 3 of us on the same day. Makes me feel much better. Didn't have any issue with it at all today.

My 500x is now 1.5 years old and this issue is stil not solved after about 10 dealer visits and software updates. This makes me feel like this :bang:
