Hi, and welcome, :)

could well be oil QUALITY..
if it's got a DPF = soot trap in the exhaust..,

so it'll need the oil quality resetting at service , as well as a "service light"

many garages unfortunately charge the money but don't do the whole job(n)

When the oil light comes on, maybe the oil pressure is to low. Was the oil filter changed? That has to be don every 15 à 20.000 miles with this engine. When not, then can the pressure build-up be to slow.

As stated by others, if your car has a DPF it's most likely the garage only reset the service light and not the "oil degradation counter". The degradation counter is "in" the ECU needs Fiat specific software. Where did you get it serviced? unless they do Fiat diesels regularly they won't know to do the oil degradation counter.
