Just ordered a Panda 4x4 in Scilian Orange! Should have it just before the end of the year. It was alread built so got a good deal.

Hoping the colour isn't too bright! :D

I'd be interested to know what real world fuel economy drivers are getting. I've read it's nowhere near the stated figured!

Cheers,
Steve

If it's a petrol TA, then 40-45mpg average is all you might realistically expect as an average, over 1000's of miles. My 21,000 miles have today averaged 40.77mpg (real, miles driven v's litres drunk, not taken from the car display...), but I live with hills all around and climbing these when cold completely kills average MPG. Masses of posts on here about expected MPG, so I don't want to start another long-winded thread with more of the same. I can beat 50mpg on a tank, but only in the summer and without long hills and running less than 60mph....

If it's a diesel, then you'll probably get nearer 60mpg, but you will be forever miserable, sound like a dust-cart and smell of chip-fat, but I'm old, prejudiced and grumpy these days, so apologies for that ;)

I'm pleased to say it's a TA!

We've P/X'ed our '08 Grande Punto against the Panda. We had the Punto LPG converted early in it's life and were very pleased with the result. We might do the same with the Panda - apparently in Europe you can get the TA factory converted. Although I'm a little concerned about the effect on the warranty of an LPG conversion.

Economy wise, halve the claimed 58mpg average and try and get a third more to the gallon on top of that. I've had 48 mpg averaging 50mph, which suggests that is the best you can expect. Worst tankful driven round town and absolutely wellied was 29. And that's figures obtained with a full tank and a calculator looking at the fuel receipt. It will do late 30's quite comfortably. Great buy when you live rurally, and I don't just mean rain, ice and snow. Good for climbing up verges to let people by on narrow roads, and setting off from piles of wet leaves. I even enjoyed my TA 4x4 in summer, which tells you everything. Alex

hiya and welcome!

from what im seeing in threads recently on consumption on a twin air engine being around 40mpg+ mark depending on your driving (y)

get some pics up in a members motors thread when you get the car :)

Question for those of you who do it, is the mpg on the TA (I've got a new Cross) as measured between fill ups higher or lower than that indicated on the display?

Our MJ Trekking in Sicilian Orange consistently does about 1 to 2 mpg less (brim to brim) than the display gives. Pretty accurate I'd say. Company Astra is much worse at about 8 mpg less. MPG has averaged 58.9 over the last year again pretty good. And for R1NGA she doesn't smell of chip fat or sound horrible and goes really well - big smiles and not miserable.

... which is excellent to hear. It shows just how good a Panda is - despite running on the devil's own fluid (y)

Actually there's a Sicilian Orange MJ 4x4 for sale up the road from me and I did take it for a drive, which noise aside, was actually very good.

Enjoy your new 4x4!
As others have indicated, MPG is entirely down to driving conditions and style. I have eeked out >58mpg on an ideal-conditions run, but equally can get mid-to-high-30s if running around on the school-run. Overall, it's pretty easy to achieve mid-40s+ on a decent run if you stick to reasonable speeds. Cold weather will impact your MPG adversely.
More importantly, congratulations on purchasing what must be the most versatile little rural/city car on the market! Narrow width, tight turning circle, good ground-clearance and a potent and eager little motor make this our car of choice, whether tackling tight country lanes or car parks! M+S tyres, plus 4x4 drive willl undoubtedly be useful at the first flurry of snow, greasy winter roads, or equally if you find yourself diverted onto that wet, muddy overflow car park at your local National Trust location!
Enjoy it and congrats on going wacky on the paint-job! These are fun little cars!

Picked her up on Saturday! Took her to the Cotswolds for a couple of days. Absolutely love her. Love the engine - even though I'm being very cautious and keeping the revs low. She seems to have plenty of power compared with our 1.4 8v Punto!

My current mpg per the onboard computer is 46.3, this is at fairly steady pace to and from work and 'around town' driving. I use standard unleaded Shell petrol normally.

My TA is in a 5 door GP,
and I was curious of the MPG,
the display was virtually identical.. so I've not bothered since.. obviously my tyres are now fairly worn - covering 26K.., so there will be discrepancies..,
but then I'd need an independant way of measuring how far the vehicle has ACTUALLY travelled.. why bother,

I get an indicated 55 mpg on a m-way trip, at 70 mph with the aircon on:cool:

reason I bought the Punto = it's 6 speed with cruise(y)

I believe so! I do like the wheels - didn't realise they were new for 2017.

Still getting to grips with the UConnect stereo. It's got the DAB upgrade which is nice.

Wishing cruise was available on the Panda - i shall miss it as we had it on the Grande Punto.

Have done 8700 kms since new in September in our ta 4x4.

The WORST mpg we have ever done around here is right now, with about 40 mpg. It's winter and of course both temperature and snow and slush on the road kill mpg.

The more normal mpg here with daily use is more like 45 mpg, no problem to reach around 53 mpg on longer trips if you drive carefully, and with summer tires (on our way home from the dealership in September, 1400 kms) we got 57 mpg on the last stretch home, about 200 km.

Ever car use more fuel in the winter, and even more with winter tires and 4x4 as everything turns around easier in warmer conditions.

Congratulations on a great car and color choice from Norway :)
