I don't appear to have any water at the rear wash wipe but the front works ok. is it fed from the same reservoir? or is there a separate one

Thank in advance

Laura

back again.

Hello again.

Yes, they're fed from the same reservoir. It's quite common for the pipe to split; you may find you have a damp patch somewhere in the car.

Also the recent cold snap may have frozen the fluid and caused a pipe to push off a connector. The 500 should always have a high concentration of a good quality screenwash in cold weather, as it is well known that the system is likely to be damaged if it freezes. The front windscreen nozzles are particularly vulnerable, though they can be glued back into place.

It's fed by the SAME PUMP as the fronts, and leaks are not uncommon near the rear quarter panel/rear seat, not frozen is it?
definitely not frozen and I cant see any leaks, well not in the dark. I'll check again tomorrow.
Thank You

I'll have to go looking for a damp patch now...

Thank you

The pump is DC with one way valves, it turns one direction for the front jets and runs in reverse for the rears, a clever cheap fix to what would normally require two pumps, turn on the ignition but don't start the engine, with the door open try the rear washer, can you hear the pump?, could be a stuck valve?

Ok I've had a look in the light .. where does the pipe run from the bottle in the front to the back. How can I get to it to see if it's blocked..

there will be a length of trim down the edge of the sill,
probably Clipped roughly in place - then with added screws..

did it on my panda - here's the ePER view..

there will be sound deadening "underlay" under the floor mat / carpet..,
it'll be soaked ,
I carefully / cut / tore the bulk of it out and let it "drip-dry"

Exact thing happened on our 500 Twinnie first day we got it. Passenger carpet soaked and the underlay too. Pipe had split half way along the door, just by the sill. I took the seat out (4 bolts) ( first disconnect battery then unclip the airbag and seat sensors under the seat), lifted the carpet and took out the underlay. Quickest way to dry it was in the tumble dryer! Dried carpet in situ with extractor from carpet cleaner. All back in and the airbag sensor may default to turned off (yellow light) but you can reset on the user menu. Didn't fancy driving around with damp underlay...
