Hi guys, just joined the forum...I have had a few fiats over the years (uno diesel and a couple of 126s).... just bought a 1989 red mk1 panda, with a twist!! It's got a 1400 lump in it, looks bog standard (and a little rusty but not rotten)...goes like stink!!! I'm planning to make it a track car (there is a reason for this but I can't say to much for the minute). The basic idea is to see if I can make it stop and corner better and possibly get her up to 160bhp (supercharged) all on a budget and scare a few bigger cars!!!

Just to keep thing streight, 1989 is mk2 not mk1.
Engine bay photos are more then welcome

Welcome to the forum, very friendly guys here with lots of info, so you've come to the right place

As kolz mentioned, 1989 would be mk2, not mk1, as mk1 was 1980-86, mk2 was 1986-2003 I believe!

And as pandamonius mentioned, I'll be looking forward to some photos of this machine! Sounds like an interesting project, I'm sure you'll keep us posted

P85 1.4 16v MPI engine i think.. i think it was the panda that.. umm panda panda.. cls.. or john of many pandas (what ever he goes by ) went to look at once..

make sure you get the underside rust proofed recommend cavity waxing too.

I think i may have seen an ad for it at some point, i feel like i know someone who went to see a red 1.4 16v panda but walked away, someone that wasn't John (he will always be cheeky_little_scamp to me) - can't for the life of me remember who it was or where it was though... I look forward to seeing a few pics anyway.

i have a mk2 92 panda with a honda vtec in it 130 bhp d16z6.. we might be able to help each other out! especially braking and suspension wise!
