Hello I'm a new fish, I have a sedici multijet it's a cracking car.... But I despise everything about the f##king dpf egr saga. Can anyone recommend a Ecu/obd software and cable to plug in to car, or a link to a site to get said cable and software, cheers, Italian is best lol

Hi, :)

we tend to use and recommend MULTIECUSCAN,

as it's specifically designed for FIAT GROUP vehicles, (y)

and their sometimes odd blend of Marelli , Bosch and Delphi kit;)

needs a laptop and @£30 of cables - see GENDAN for the different kit options.

IF you are near the south midlands / Oxford a demo is available..;)

or come to MITCAR - Warwick at the end of the month(y)

Charlie - Oxford

Apart from the branded interfaces like Gendan, you can get cheap ones on ebay, e.g.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271275445368
or
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161715574389
For a fuller kit with adaptors.
You need the Green and Red adaptors for ABS and Airbags.
I've bought from both these sellers without issue.

Or, blatant plug, a kit with laptop,

Being sold by yours truly.

I'd rather use software in laptop and plug in wire, does anyone have a code for wire or a description for it. Thanks for your help, also can you post pictures everyone loves pics, I live in northeast England so anyone one up here has any clubs or owt I'll be interested, as I've said I love the sedici it's just not very diy mechanic friendly.

The software is to reset oil degradation after oil change and force a dpf cycle if I need to.

Hi @Marky mark9,
The ebay links I gave are for a USB (laptop) interface. You use them Multiecuscan (MES) software. They will reset the DPF oil degredation counter etc. MES does all this and more.
The preferred type of interface for most Fiats is an ELM327 USB. Some functions will work with a KL (Vag-Com) interface, and some older cars will specifically need a KL type. The MES website has a compatability list. You can install the software and use it (with restrictions such as 15 minute time out) to make sure you are happy before paying the very reaonable €50 registration fee.

Cheers mate your a star and great response on my first day to Forum, I have learnt that my sedici is the glam sand colour in all brochures etc however it has no colour match code anyway on vehicle I can confirm the colour code is 984 described as as 'sabbia impeccaabile' just to add some knowledge as a thank you for the advice. I have bought this colour paint as a touch up for stone chips and it's perfect. Cheers Mark
