Hey! Ordered myself a fiat 500...so hot off the shelf it hasn't even been built yet...but it's my first time buying a new car. I'm really surprised that it's going to take 12 weeks to put it together. I really thought they would have these things good to go. But sadly not so. I have only ordered a few additional extras... Sat nav, TFT display and climate control.

Anyone here had experience of buying new and the wait times? Will I really have to wait a WHOLE 12 weeks? I'm like a kid at Christmas. Guess on a positive note it's good to have something to look forward too!

basically your dealer should update you with progress codes.. these are all deciphered in an index here on the forum..,

My guess is that you aren't the only purchaser of a new Fiat 500 the is week.

Fiat, like most factories operate a 'just in time' system of part supply, so the parts for your car are ordered in specifically, hence the time taken.

We ordered 500x on 3/3/16. With extras, this was also a 12 week build. Got car on the road on 5/5/16 so only 8 weeks. I tracked the boat, that links yo Amelfi where they are built. Landed at Bristol, then PDI and then transported up to north east, then dealer polish etc. It's certainly worth the wait. Which spec and colour? M

Yes. Slightly puzzling.....

Hi everyone! My fiat 500 arrived today. Such a beauty for a first car! My first journey was christened by another fiat driver tooting! I've come to realise this is the done thing as I noticed another driver wave. ? I am the happiest man on the planet right now. I love everything about it! My first drive alone was to the gym. I only stayed half an hour as I wanted to drive back home! Got lots of practice in this evening when roads were quiet.

The wait seemed like forever but was well worth waiting for!
