Hi guys
Found this site while searching for help with a few issues with my car. What a wealth of info! I'm the proud owner of a y reg Multipla called Mabel, my kids call her the fugly and don't love her quite as much as I do! Had her for 3 yrs, bought her with low miles, full service history and one owner. Sadly age is taking its toll now and I just had to fork out more than she is worth on a new clutch and fly wheel. Now the alarm is playing up, but hopefully I can find the info here to disable it. Look forward to meeting more Multipla lovers :)

You don't say what is wrong with your alarm BUT you can simply disable it by locking and opening the car with the key rather than the remote.

These are great cars and I will miss mine when I finally stop getting messed around by all the *"':ies (rhymes with crickeys) on eBay and sell her.

Clutch's go on all cars, I truly don't believe these are anymore or less prone to others. Mine lasted to 112K before I finally changed it. Every single car on this planet has a series of latent defects, even legendary Honda. The FRV had major issues with clutch/DMF's in the first three years of production.

Hi and welcome.

Post your problems and one of the many guru's we have will give you a remedy so your beloved fugly will stay up and running.
These bugs are never going to be Rolls Royces but they serve well and with a bit of TLC will keep going for a long time.

I am now on Bug #6 or is it 7, and rebuilding another, slowly.
We all try to help our fellow bug lovers, so don't be afraid to ask, remember, the only stupid question is the one you didn't ask.

All the best
George

Thankyou for the welcome, and the info. I didn't realise locking with the key disabled the alarm. I have been leaving her unlocked so not to upset the neighbours. The alarm randomly goes off, usually at night! I found some info saying there was a key near fuse box which would disable alarm, but this doesn't seem to be on UK models.
She is returning to the garage on Tue as I think the exhaust is loose, but I hope I can keep her on the road long enough to say I own a classic :).
Can I ask weather your sun roofs still work? And are they water tight?
Thankyou

Both my sun roofs work, If yours leak at all it is nearly always where the rubber surround meets the
roof , not around the glass, there is an easy cure you can buy called I think, " Tolley's leak cure" very simple to use and had worked for me on two of my previous three ugly bugs.
