Hi everybody I'm new to the forum so hello! & please also excuse my ignorance/stupidity!

I have a 62 reg 500 which I have had 10 days now & I am completely in love with her! However one thing I'm struggling to get my head around is this stop/start malarkey... Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't! Can anybody please advise on the in's & out's or link me to any other threads that I've probably missed?

It works when there is sufficient charge in the battery, the engine is warm, the rear demist isn't on, the front heater demist isn't on & if you have climate, the temperature in the car is close to what you have it set.

Or, any combination of the above, it doesn't have to be specific.

Hi. And welcome.

Yes..its all down to the charge power in the battery. And the drains on it.
the car does constant calculations..
if there isnt sufficient charge itll onlt stop for a few seconds..or not at all.

The bonus is it reduces VED/ROADTAX significantly.
