Hello everyone,

Just thought I would post on here as I need to post an image link but I need 5 posts!

Passed my test recently and got an 06 Fiat Grande Punto, kinda wishing I didn't now as it seems first the fans have been playing up (Loose Connection) the dash vent has popped up and now my heat shield seems to be about to drop off

Other than that.. it's really fun to drive!

Personally the majority of used cars have the little problems but when they have been sorted, happy days!

I passed my test more than a year ago now and I've had my 07 Grande Punto since Jan 2015.

Just hope you don't run into major issues like I had (my gear selectors went exactly a year after I bought it), battery needed changing, and other things I can't remember at the moment

Philip G , to be fair, a battery is a wear and tear component, (like tyres.,)

so it's failure can't really be considered Major..,

well not unless it's the £7K ones in a hybrid..

the GP was a very good car in it's day, and is still capable now, but after 8 years of use/abuse... a few signs of wear are normal.

trawl the FAQ's at the top of the GP section, that'll give you the basics.., TBH a lot of the other stuff "just-happens" over time / miles, and would need attention in any vehicle,
is it the front heat shield ( engine / exhaust manifold),?
of one at the rear of the car..??

The car has began to creak a fair bit in the weather but I'm taking it into the dealership tomorrow to get it sorted.

It's such a lovely car to drive and it looks so nice as well!

I've got the same issue I've quoted you. It appears this was a known fault looking at the sticky. Been intending to replace it but my money tree hasn't sprouted yet

I heard there is no point as they just pop up again. I got a demister pad and wedged it there. It's now part of the furniture

Not immediately I don't think, probably ~2 years?

Well if it does the job! I just left it deformed, and just get annoyed when it demists the passenger side fine and I can't see sod all!
