I am new to fiat forum and recently bought an palio 1.2 elx 2003 model.

The car was awesome and smootly running until, I accidentally took into 1.5 feet depth of water during rain. What happened next ? I was driving it in 3rd hear and experienced low power, hence I shifted down to 2nd followed by 1st gear; but the result was even worse. Palio stalled...!

I tried to start it since I was struck in middle of nowhere, after couple of tries it started and result after raising the rpm the cat convetor was glowing red hot.

After waiting for 1hr, I finally was able drive the car to home (but with no great power from engine) as soon as the gas (accelerator) peddle was released rpm lowered and engine turned off.
Yesterday I tried to start the engine but fuel injector lamp was continuously glowing. The engine was cranking. I have checked the fuel cutoff switch (it's on and have reset it), fuel in tank is above 70%, battery is good.

Welcome at Fiat Forum.
Red indicator light means the ECU has detected a fault somewhere.
Have it read at a ( Fiat) workshop to be certain about what's wrong.
