hi all im a new stilo owner and am changing my stereo to an aftermarket one. can any one help me get power to the HU without more adaptors, so just using the cars wiring. I read on here that just swapping the red and yellow cables on the iso cable will do it has anyone tried this

The cables coming from mine don't have the same colour cables as in the guides I only have 5 cables in the white iso Inc red and black can somebody help me please

Hi Dfreer1 yes you do need to connect the red and yellow together on you stereo as the cars harness doesnt have the two power plugs on the iso block. Can you put a pic up of your stereo harness and which stereo you have I.e kenwood, pioneer. Most aftermarket stereos have bullet clips on there harness so you dont have to cut your wiring and iirc tge yellow has a third bullet so the red wire can be joint to the yellows circuit. Most stereos will have the red wire as mains power and yellow as ignition(memory power) hope this helps regards andy

I didn't get a harness with my stereo will have to buy one I guess bugger will go back to the shop and see Wat they got are there any harnesses that I can use or do I need a specific one?

Got these which do I connect to what?

If you know car electrics, then you can find a wire to run your main, fused, feed from. To the left hand side of the ignition lock (with the shroud removed) there is an orange wire going to the ignition switch. Confirm this wire with a test light and you should find it powers on and off with the ignition key. Simply patch into this wire with a scotchlock (or push the wire into the back of the terminal) and then connect the accessory wire into the car loom as the instructions.
