Hi guys,
Obviously just joined in search of potential answers. I've never really thought to join a car forum before but as my aging Punto (04 model - 1.2 8v) has finally decided to let me down after 8 solid years of trouble free motoring I thought I may need some guidance in the art of dealing with motors past their best and potentially on its way to meet its breaker.
I've been told the engine on these are bomb proof! That may be, and I suspect my woe to be as a result of something on the periphery such as a lead, a sensor or a plug perhaps - but not being mechanically clued up I thought this place may be a good starting point.
So, where best to post for a little solace and a little practical advice? This will help preserve the car's bodywork insofar as I may resist the urge to kick it in frustration - it broke down just as my financial situation got dire so the fully paid up mechanic option is to be avoided if possible. I am therefore at your mercy, please be gentle with me - it's my and my Punto's first time.
