Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum.. I just bought a cinquecento sporting for a project, in great original condition, can anyone help me cos when I'm driving it sounds like an aeroplane is either on top of me or just outside?? Does it seem to you guys it could be the wheel bearings?
Thanks

Is it only when going along or will it do it stationary with the engine running?
Does the noise change as you go round corners?

If it is a wheel bearing and it is that loud, it Will be proper fcuked so pretty easy to find!

Do you live close to an aerodrome
Could be wheel bearings, could be tyres.... so why don't you check it out after all you're with the car we're not -so it's just a guessing game on our part.
You presumably have a jack in the boot, put the car in gear, jack the rear up & spin the wheels. Given the noise you're hearing if the bearings are shot they will be as notchy as hell.

Thanks a lot for the help and advise guys. Yehh will deffo get the bearings changed tbh because I'm having new discs and pads fitted so might as well do both jobs.. Appreciate the reply guys (y)

Yehh just as I'm going above 20 mph.. When stationary it stops, process of elimination I guess its the bearings

You sure the previous owner didn't attach playing cards with clothes pegs to make a noise as the wheels went round like the kids used to do on their bikes? :D
