Could be camshaft sensor
One of my Mareas had that a few years ago

Had its timing belt changed then wouldnd start
Was the wiring on the sensor that was knackered

Be a shame to scrap another hgt

pretty sure it will end up being something silly and simple like a sensor or bad connection/wire. cam/crank sensors tend not to throw fault codes alot of the time in my experience.

Think blu73 is right they don't always show fault but it there and until u take them out you will never know

think best thing is to get it back home, and see if you have spark and fuel. If it has both then it would start so one or both must not be present... These sensors tell the ecu what the engine position is and so without a signal from them you tend to not get fuel or spark.

So I'm thinking that's probably the issue from what has been described - of course there is other stuff it could be but first thing to do is find out if its spark or fuel or both that its not getting.

get the OLD parts back too, as I suspect they are fine..!!

CAS don't tend to leave codes..still stop the vehicle running though.. _ THAT will NOT cause an Immob. problem - totally different issue.

Don't let it go for £80 either. If you've space on your drive keep good of it.

For ref, the car was sold for scrap for £100. I'm sure it could have been resolved but i need the space for another car, and it was more trouble than it was worth. Speak to Emmanuel at PowerItalia if interested i guess.
