When im driving along theres a light comes on the dash (with a bleep) saying my front left headlight is out but when ive checked all my lights are working.
Any ideas on what this may be?

Cheers for the tip.
It doesnt actually say headlight its just an arrow pointing left and its comes up saying front bulb failure so I just presumed it was the headlight.

More likely to be a side light then. There are 2 side light bulbs in each headlamp. The warning will come up if only one bulb is blown.

The system works by measuring the overall resistance of each light circuit. If all the bulbs are working, then it's probably a poor connection, as suggested by Maigretnz. The resitance of some bulbs can change enough over time to trigger the warning, so even though a bulb is lit, it could be out of specification.

Are you sure it says headlight? The Stilo bulb failure warning system doesn't monitor the headlights.

Hi Davren, long time no speak, hope all's well. So any idea what's the logic behind having a failure warning for a side light and not headlights? My Stilo comes up with a warning message every now and then saying the number plate bulb is out (dirty contact which I've now cleaned) but I was surprised to find a head light bulb out the other day and the car hadn't informed me. Seems a bit weird, is it just because having a headlight bulb out should be more noticeable to the driver?

Thought you'd left us. ;)

Yes... they assume you can see from the lack of beam pattern on the road that a headlight bulb is out.

Ha ha no not left, just been AWOL!! Guess that makes sense but I'd have thought they'd have included a warning message as they have for the other bulbs.
