Hello every one !
I move in United Kingdom with my Stilo and now i thinking to register car in UK, because my car with EU number plates and car are LHD. (and car are on my father's name)
I don`t want to sale car and buy another, because i really trust my Stilo and LOVE IT :p
So maybe someone can advise me how to register car, where i have to go, what i need to know about about Tax and Insurance. I know i will need change headlights and dashboard, but its not a problem for me :)
Please help me.. :):)

Hi,
you will need to contact a DVLA office near you, https://www.gov.uk/importing-vehicles-into-the-uk

they will basically check the Stilo Chassis number ( to check the cars Identity)

you will also need a UK MOT test - to prove safe operation of car - to UK standards..!!

once MOT is done, and vehicle ID checked you will normally be issues a UK Registration related to the Stilo's age ( build year).

I hope that helps a little,
Charlie

i need to know about about Tax and Insurance.

You will only be able to tax the car when you have the UK registration document (V5).

It will be more expensive to insure a LHD car in the UK than a similar RHD car.

When applying for insurance, you must declare all modifications to the car. Modifications include anything that has been changed on the car that makes it different from when it left the Fiat factory. If you don't declare all modifications, the insurance company can cancel the policy and not pay if you make a claim. If it's the car in your post, it looks like there will be several modifications. If any modifications increase the car's performance, the insurance will be more expensive.

I don't know kow it works in Lithuania, but in many European countries, you insure the car and anyone can drive it. UK car insurance is for the car and only the named drivers you include on the policy.

Not 100% sure but i dont think you need to change the dash/clocks to MPH. I brought a motorbike in from Germany some years ago and never had to cange the clocks on that, just the headlamp. I am also under the impression you dont have to register the car straight away. I am sure you have 6 month. Might be with finding out if there is a car importer where you are moving to as they may assist better
