Hello there. Just signed up and figured I'll do the civil thing and post an introduction before asking a bunch of questions (don't worry I'll use the search option. that's what it's there for). Just left my midlife crisis barchetta behind and I'm now officially old driving a 2007 Croma 1.9jtd auto. Which is a different way of saying I had to get ride of the barchetta cause she was just getting to far gone. And I had a change to pick up the Croma for cheap. There appears to be a small shake in the the front wheels, but that will need to wait till spring.

Hi, welcome to the forum / support group!

You'll find answers to most of the issues with Cromas on the forum somewhere and when you come across something new then there are people who know a bit (ie me) and others who know a lot more.

Assuming you've got the 16v 150bhp I'd get the wheel wobble looked at sooner rather than later unless you're certain that it's wheel balancing.

This is because driveshaft wear is a common cause of this symptom on the 150's in paticular (allthough I'd imagine the 120's aren't immune) and the fix if caught early enough can be as simple as repacking with the EXACT amount of the EXACT grease before it wears too much.

However, search for driveshaft or wheel wobble and you'll get a variety of suggestions and guidance.

Don't assume that the garage will know how important this is either.

Also, other things to be aware of are that the car needs a software reset after an oil change or it stuffs the particulate filter and they sun so much better with their egr's partially blanked off.

Thanks for the advise. I'll do some more research (found most topics I think). Lucky for me I bought the car through a close friend of mine. He happens to be a Fiat dealer. Getting stuff reset should not be a problem. I'll most likely look for the Vectra swap. Just need to find the correct shafts for a 150hp automatic.
