hi everybody,
I have a problem with my ducato 2008 2.3 multijet.the battery was flat,so I charged it up and put it back on the mh.the engine started and after a minute cut out.the yellow immobiliser lock light came on and the engine will only turnover and not fire up.i tried the spare key and it started up and cut out again.could this be low voltage at the battery causing this?.i have spoken to Brownhills of Newark and they suggested checking all the fuses.
would appreciate any advice.cheers

Have known a few fiat products drop their keys after flat battery's , here's one thing to try - disconnect both battery terminals oh and the leisure one of it happens to be a camper , hold the 2 battery leads together or link them with a jump lead if the won't reach for approx 10 sec this is called a hard reset , it may work if not the keys will need recoding I'm afraid

Key has a rolling code if the voltage drops when changing the code you can end up with different code in the key and computer.

You can resync it with multidiag or maybe with multiecuscan or alfaobd. You need you login code card. If you don't have the code it might be cheaper to call a locksmith as they may be able to extract the code.

good info - but 95% sure MES can't code keys.., "Examiner" can

good autolocksmith could be safest for @£80 to £100,

Thanks for the suggestions,I went down on Thursday to start it,fired up first time and kept running ok.going down this morning to try it again.i had a look around the farm yard where we keep it and there is low power line and a mobile phone antenna about 30 yards away.i read b4 that this caused someone else problems like mine.
Cheers
Will keep you posted.

No other keys or door access tags on the key ring is there ?

No other keys, have got the sigma alarm on it.just been down and it won't start again, the battery voltage was 11.5,so charging the battery again.u

Battery fully charged, engine still turns over fine but won't fire up,yellow warning light with padlock comes on,have had a word with a auto locksmith and he says it's not a key problem, think this could end up at a fiat dealership!!

Cheers,I've got a citroen relay van with same battery, will give that a try
