500 Dualogic noise

Hello All. New to site so be gentle.. Just bought a Fiat 500 1.2 Sport Dualogic for the wife and when putting in drive or reverse there is a clunking sound. This can't be heard in the car but out of the car is quite loud. Can anyone shed some light on this .... Thanks (y)

normal = )
 
Yup it's normal. Although I would characterise it as more of a "clack!" sound than clunk.

And you can definitely hear it inside the car when it's quiet and you have the windows open, especially at night.

you can even physically see it in action if you pop up the bonnet and change gears while looking at engine bay from the top. haha my dualogic recently goes into neutral on the downshifts when i go from manual to auto mode, what a confused system = )
