Hi, and welcome :)

Clutch ..? BRAKES..??
which circuit are you working on ?,

I was pretty confident that the clutch would have it's own little supply reservoir bottle,

my old Tempra had a combi one,
needed @ 60 psi to shift the crud in the line , and restore pressure / fluid supply, ;)

Hi Charlie I couldn't get into gear so I bled the system no joy so I changed the clutch master cylinder still no joy any ideas? Thanks

Hi, don't have a multi any more and never had to bleed the clutch, however, I have read on here that there are 2 bleed nipples and that the front of the car has to be raised for bleeding to be successful, a quick forum search should help you out.

When you say the brakes went hard, was it just the fact that the engine wasn't running (hence no servo assistance) ??

Hi thanks mate yeah it was the servo with the brakes but still having gearbox problem I suppose it must be knackered. 2nd multipla in 2 years ain't buying another one

Try selecting the gears with the engine off, and don't touch the clutch pedal.
If it won't go into gear, you have sticky/seized gear-change cables.
Check the rubber 'boots' at the lower end of the cables, chances are they're split/perished, or even missing.
You can lube the cables from the top end by removing the gear lever gaiter, and squirting the ends with some penetrating spray (e.g. WD40) while moving the lever back and forth and left/right.
Could also be the selector mechanism that the cables connect to.

If it goes into gear with the engine off, it's the clutch, or the actuating mechanism.
Get someone to watch the end of the slave cylinder rod, to check if it's moving while you press the pedal.

Did this happen suddenly/overnight, or has the clutch (or gears) been playing up at all previously?

Where are the cables routed from and to? My current multi suffers the same problem with very stiff gear change. Drives me mad sometimes!
