Hi Folks,

Not posted on here before but just been having a look at some posts while trying to figure out something. I'm concerned that my doblo might be about to cost me a lot of money and was hoping for some feed back.

So, I left to travel around 200 miles this afternoon. Before doing so I checked the oil and coolant. Didn't think anythin of it at the time but in hindsight the oil was a bit high and the coolant a bit low - I've never worked on this vehicle, always had serving etc done at fiat so assumed high oil was due to them and not a major issue.

During the drive I lost power on a few occasions. I would be unable to increase revs regardless of what I did to the accelerator and the power to the engine would slowly die off. Once stopped, the engine would not rev over 2000rpm. Turning the ignition on and off seemed to resolve the issue.

While reading the forums I read some info about the oil degradation light. I am concerned about my oil being high as the fiat garage that previously serviced the van didn't reset this light/timer with the oil change. By the time the light came on I was not able to take the van in immediately. Must've done 1k miles with the light on. Then, when it did go in, I'm pretty sure they just reset the timer, not changed the oil as it's suggested on here it should be.

The van is normally used for long journeys but has been sitting for the last month or so without much use.

I know this is quite a lot of info but any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently about 200 miles from the dealer that serviced it and wondering whether to do a quick oil change myself (I'm a mildly competent DIY mechanic on an old 4x4 but never worked on a new(ish) vehicle like this) or get it back to the dealer on a truck so they can see exactly what the situation is.

Thanks in advance.
