Found this forum after googling things about the Panda 100hp and it kept bringing me back here. Im currently Fiatless but im set on a Panda. I currently drive a Focus ST so its going to be very different but a good one and certainly a cheaper one. The Panda will be my 1st Fiat as well.

Hi Dave!

I ordered a new Panda today. Thought I would take advantage of their current deals (I think on until end of the month) so got a fantastic price! I've had two punto's in the past and I had to downgrade to a peugeot 106-I was commuting into London and had to sell my punto :-/

I now have a 70 mile drive twice a week and the 106 is a bit hair-raising doing national speed limit! This will be a REAL treat!!!!

Go for it! (y)

Dave, hope all things are good?
The 100hp will be a lot of fun. It makes a lot of fuss, then hits 4500 rpm goes nuts for a while, then you change gear.... And do it all again. A standard Panda is a very sensible car, not the 100hp. I love mine, I really do, the front end is very good and the back end will follow. In my view get good rubber all around Goodyear F1 or Yokos S drive which I use. Then go hunt for an Audi to upset lol.

Welcome to the board, bye the way, the best bit is Pandas are bulletproof, most of the time......

Thank you for the welcomes :) sounds like im going to have some fun then. Cant wait to test drive one. Thanks for the advice on the rubber as well, always useful.

The 100hp may not be the most sensible car, but 42 per gallon, cost 2.5k, and now I have forgotten about how comfortable my last car was and haven't hesitated to go four hours up the motorway in it. As it happens I probably drive my daughters pun to sporting faster. Fed up with people asking Why I am driving a panda though..

Well what can i say, i drove it yesterday and i loved it, so much fun!!! Especially in sport mode, infact i didnt drive ir not in sport mode, it was that good. Bit more basic than the focus inside but thats to be expected. Only issue was the price, was up for 5695 for a 59 plate with 45k on the clock. The dealership said they will fully service it and do the belts and put a 12month mot on it but i still think its a bit much?

About a year and a half ago I paid a very similar amount for an 08 plate (so effectively the same age at the time), but it only had 20k miles on the clock. I also got the cambelt, a service and 12 months MOT included in the price. That said, even with only 20k on the clock, I knew I was paying more than average, but the car was only a few miles from my house and it was exactly as I wanted it so I was willing to pay for the convenience. The next nearest car which was similar on paper was from some backstreet dealer in Sheffield.

Well ive bought one today :) :)

So happy with it. Cant wait to pick it up next week. Its a 10 plate with 35k on the clock. The garage have given me 1 year mot, service, doing the cam belt, 1 year break down and 1 year warranty. I think ive done really well to be honest. It drives really well. So much fun.

Here it is

Well what can i say, i love the panda!! Done about 100 miles in it since i picked it up. Its so fun and makes you smile. Its great in sport mode, becomes very sprightly. Its good over 4k revs too ;) Only niggle is the hand brake is level with the seat adjuster but if thats the only thing i cant complain really. Also, the girlfriend has seen it and she says she likes it so its a win all round really. Im a very happy panda owner at the minute!!

Welcome to the family!!(y).....on the subject of people asking why you drive a panda..we've all had that but after a little while they all start parking next to you in the works carpark..:D.
BTW...ladies love panda's because its not a substitute for something else...;)
