Hello,
My name is David. I live in Lexington, KY. Just purchased a 1977 Spider 1800. It runs and is a pretty solid, no rust car. Needs a little cosmetic work. Drove it back from purchasing it in Tennessee, 4 1/2 hours with no issues. It does want to stall at a stop, which is why I joined. I will search posts to see if I can get to the bottom of that. This is the 4th Spider I've owned, but the first in 20 years. Obviously I didn't have access to this wealth of 'world wide' knowledge back then. Looking forward it!

Hi and WELCOME THE FORUM

Hopefully you will find all the info you need in the Spider section! If not post up and I'm sure someone will be able to advise!

Hi David
Firstly hang on to that car...it's worth a lot!
Secondly, you might want to check the idle jets and any fuel filter (if fitted)
Or just go ahead and strip & clean the carbs completely (best option) as it is quite an old car..
In general the older Fiats never had severe electrical faults, but if you do the above and still have problems, then you might want
to look at the electrics too. It's just a process of 'elimination' really!

Good luck
Paul (from across 'the pond' :)
