Hi Guys

The name is Stripes and I am from Bloemfontein in South Africa.

I bought the wife a 2000 Fiat Palio 1.2MPI 3-dr.

Car was previously her grans car that had a front ender, but has since been fixed.

One of the gripes we have with the car is dim headlights.

After some investigation, we found that the headlights were all wired wrong.

Now the SA models had H4 bulps in the lamps, but I suspect all wiring up to the plug must be the same?

Now my question is, why am I still getting 6volt on my brights with them switched off?

This is annoying cause I have "relayed" the lights, just like I do with all my cars. Even my 1989 VW Fox(South African facelifted Mk1 Jetta) has relays.

The 6v is not enough to switch on the relay, but it is enough to keep the relay energized when you eventually to go brights.

Even with out the relay, the bright filament is glowing dimly.

The car needs to working proberly in 2weeks time for the Road Worthy Certificate (SA version of the MOT).

Hope to hear soon from you guys out there...

Cheers
