Hi i,m new to the forum and need some help with my Motorhome, i need to know if I need an ABS master brake cylinder OR an ordinary brake cylinder.
Fiat quoted £450 +vat! but I've seen them for £80.
The Motorhome is a ducato 2.8 on a 53 plate.

Thanks
:)

If you have ABS the control unit will be under the bonnet somewhere. From the master cylinder, follow the two pipes. If they set off towards the wheels, you don't have ABS. If they go to a large lump with a round bit on top, with then 4 pipes coming out to the wheels, you have ABS.

When you turn the ign on, check for a warning lamp that says "ABS". If you have ABS it should come on for 3-4 seconds, then go out after the self-test if all is ok.

Regarding ABS, I was interested to note that vehicles fitted with this don't have dual circuit brakes (or at least my car doesn't)

I'm presuming that the ABS hydraulics/electronics will cut off brake fluid supply to a damaged brake line in which there is no back pressure?

ABS pump if you have one is nearside behind the bumper at the front right of the nearside wheel. I think the non abs master cylinder has 4 pipes and the abs has two so you can't mix them up. Even £80 sounds steep, you can get an lpr part for around £60.
